The artwork is in fair condition. There are several black smudges near the right edge and along the upper edge. There is a spot of discoloration on the lower area of the work, on the “lips” of the portrait. 2 pieces of the binding holes have been removed. There are spots of discoloration on the lower left area, 1 on the binding holes along the left edge and 1 on the bottom edge.

There is 1 hole on the middle of the upper edge. On the back side, there is an oil stain/discoloration spot on the lower area of the work. This spot has permeated to the front side. Several areas have smudges of graphite, pastel or dirt: 2 points along the upper edge and a huge area along the bottom edge. Some of the binding holes have been folded.
